Finding your perfect shampoo isn’t easy. Personally, I always struggle to find a formula that’ll moisturize my damaged hair without leaving me feeling greasy. Not to mention, my scalp is on the sensitive side so I have to pay extra attention to the ingredients. Ever since graduating from drugstore shampoo and conditioners, I’ve been in search of my holy grail shower rotation. And to be honest, Dae’s new Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo has quickly earned its spot as one of my favorites.
Dae’s hair products have been everywhere recently, and the brand is on its way to cult-favorite status. Before trying the new shampoo, I was a big fan of Dae’s iconic Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream—and of course, I’m not alone. Just like tons of other beauty lovers, I thought the styling cream was easy to use and effective. And after being impressed by the Signature Shampoo, I was even more intrigued by the new clarifying shampoo and what it could to do for my hair.

Our Dae Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo Review
As a self proclaimed pro-shampoo tester, I take tons of things into consideration when I test out a new shampoo. And honestly, packaging is one of the first things I notice. Sure, everyone wants their products to look beautiful—but packaging also plays a huge role in how you interact with the product. That being said, the Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo pasts all of my tests packaging-wise. The pump makes it easy to dispense product in the shower, and I never have to worry about wasting product or leaving a mess behind. Plus, the orange and pink color palette is just so cute. (And bonus points because the actual shampoo is pink and sparkly.)
If you’ve tried any of Dae’s products, you’re probably familiar with its signature orange citrus scent. To be honest, I was never a fan of orange-scented anything—but Dae’s signature scent is so incredibly dreamy it changed my mind. As much as I hate to admit it, scent is a big selling point for me when it comes to shampoo. I want my hair to smell nice and feel good, is that too much to ask? Thankfully though, the Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo seriously comes through in both departments.
As for actual performance, the Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo ticks tons of boxes. It’s formulated with devil’s claw extract (sounds scary I know) which has anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for sensitive scalps like mine. I found that it lathers up beautifully and leaves my hair feeling clean and hydrated. Since it’s winter, my hair needs extra love so it’s been nice knowing that I’m getting a good wash every time with this shampoo. I find that two to three pumps is usually enough to wash my medium thick chest-length hair, give or take depending on how many hair products I’m washing out. Not only does this shampoo smell amazing, it makes my hair feel soft and healthy from the second I walk out of the shower until it’s time to wash again.
If you’re also picky when it comes to shampoo (rightfully so), the Dae Desert Detox Clarifying Shampoo could be a good option. It’s reliable enough to pack on trips, yet not too fancy that I feel bad using it when I need to. Plus, it actually claims to be color-safe and suitable for all hair types. I’d say, if you struggle with excess buildup and feeling clean after wash day, you need to give it a try.
