Another day, another concert movie, and next up to bat is our very own Princess of Wasia, Olivia Rodrigo. Her concert film, Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour, premiered this weekend in Los Angeles. The marquee outside nya studios EAST, where the premiere was held, read, “IT’S NOT EVEN HALLOWEEN AND OLIVIA RODRIGO IS SLAYING VAMPIRES.” And you can bet she slayed her look too.
She worked with styling duo, sisters Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, who sourced a 1998 Christian Dior black and grayish-purple slip gown, designed under the creative direction of John Galliano. The dress was a lacy spaghetti strap dress with a swooping scoop neckline. The body of the dress was form-fitting all the way down, with a beautiful lace motif printed around the waist of the dress like a belt, a Dior classic. Alongside that dress, she wore diamonds from Chopard. Her glam was done by Clayton Hawkins and Melissa Hernandez. The hair was beautiful and elegant, old Hollywood vibes: a part down the middle and flowing, pulled out, loose curls. The makeup was simple: subtle, peachy blush, a winged liner, and neutral peach lips.
The dress’s straps and neckline were lined with a very simple lace that you might typically see on underwear and loungewear. We’re seeing suggestions and nods to that casual, 2000s mall-brand cami look all over, from Instagram ads to Olivia Rodrigo’s purple carpet.
Brands like Cou Cou Intimates, Andine, and Sézane are putting out a lot of soft cotton intimates that aren’t quite lingerie, but are sexier and more sensual than your typical house robe. It’s a lot of lace, cotton, pointelle knits.
