What’s Zendaya’s Last Name & Will She Take Tom Holland’s?

She’s always remembering her roots. Zendaya hasn’t been using her last name for a while, and some fans are trying to remember what it is after her huge engagement with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

Tom Holland proposed to Zendaya between Christmas 2024 and New Year’s Eve. TMZ was the first to report the news. Tom also asked for Zendaya’s parents’ blessing well in advance. Sources told the gossip site that Tom asked her father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman months ahead of the proposal and he and Zendaya’s mother happily celebrated. Sources said Tom Holland wanted to keep it pretty traditional and Zendaya’s family already loves Tom and thinks he’s “a class act.”

Tom expressed that he wanted to blend their families together when he was describing his holiday plans with his now-fiancé. “I think what we’d like to start doing is, rather than spending it with each family each year, bring the families together,” Holland said. “That’s what I think we want to do next time. This time, because we are both actors, we’re terrible at organizing things, so it hasn’t happened yet, but the thought’s there. The idea has been planted.”

So what surname will Zendaya use when the Spider-Man stars tie the knot at the altar?

What is Zendaya’s last name?

Zendaya’s full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. In an PSA video for the nonprofit Welcome USA, she explained the significance of her name. “I have my African first name, I have a middle name that is [my mom’s] middle name, which is French, but we did it African spelling, so it’s literally me in a name,” she said. “And then you have Stoermer, and then you have Coleman. I literally have, like, a timeline in history in my name.

And as for why Zendaya dropped her last name for her stage name, she thought that it would be cool. “I [dropped my last name because I] just thought it was cool, like Cher or Prince,” she told Allure.

Even before news of their engagement, fans have been making funny viral posts about if Tom would take her last name. “When Zendaya and Tom Holland get married, he’s gonna take her last name and just become Tom,” several posts read. We don’t know whether Zendaya will take up the Holland surname when they get married, but Coleman-Holland sure has a great ring to it. But Zendaya is already a huge name in itself, so she might continue using her mononym.
