She may not have won a Golden Globe, but Zendaya still had something shiny with her when she attended the 82nd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Zendaya — who was nominated in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy for her role in Challengers at the 2025 Golden Globes — was one of the first celebrities to walk the red carpet on Sunday. But it wasn’t her orange Louis Vuitton dress or Marilyn Monroe-reminiscent hairstyle that caught the attention of the internet. It was the massive diamond ring on her finger—yes, that finger.
“WAIT A MINUTE,” one user wrote on X, along with a photo of Zendaya’s hand which sported a large oval-cut diamond set east to west on a gold band. Another wrote, “That’s a nice ring you got on zendaya…”
While neither Zendaya nor her boyfriend, Tom Holland, have confirmed their engagement, rumors have swirled for a while. “There has been talk of marriage, and that is a reality,” a source told People in April 2024. “They are not the kind of stars who put their lives together out there on social media for the most part.” The inside added, “Both are private. [The public eye] has never been easy or comfortable for either of them.”
Zendaya and Tom met in 2016 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which they played love interests Michelle Jones-Watson and Peter Parker (Spider-Man). After years of rumors, Zendaya and Tom went public with their romance in 2021 after they were photographed kissing.
Though there’s been a lot of speculation that Zendaya and Tom have been secretly engaged—and even married—for a while, fans also suspect that the diamond ring could be because of Zendaya’s relationship with the jewelry brand, Bulgari, which she’s an ambassador for and has worn diamonds on the red carpet for in the past. Along with the diamond ring on her left hand, Zendaya also wore another diamond ring on a silver band on her right hand.
Missing from the Golden Globes was Tom, who recently told Men’s Health in January 2025 about why he and Zendaya have never walked a red carpet together aside from Spider-Man. “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he said.
